CO2 Laser Overview
Skin resurfacing by means of a carbon dioxide (C02) laser is the most effective form of skin resurfacing, but it is also the most extreme. Its effects are similar to those of chemical peels and dermabrasion, except that the laser removes layers of skin by vaporization. CO2 lasers are the only means of effectively treating deep post-acne scarring, and they are often combined with rejuvenative surgery (such as a facelift) in order to produce the most effective results.
